CalVCB Benefits for Crime Victims

What is CalVCB?

Sad woman

California Victim Compensation Board (CalVCB) helps compensate victims of crimes. The program provides financial assistance to victims of violent crimes by reimbursing crime-related expenses and connecting them with a range of services and assistance programs.

Some significant expenses CalVCB may cover:

  • Funeral and burial expenses
  • Income loss
  • Medical treatment
  • Mental health services
  • Relocation
  • Residential security

Indeed, even good people can be victims of violence, accidents, and crime. This is an unfortunate reality that we must face.  Therefore, whenever you face one of the above crises, someone must be there to listen to you, to comfort you emotionally, or to financially support you..

We are that someone.

Suppose you are a victim of domestic violence (also known as Intimate Partner Abuse) or sexual assault who does not have insurance and needs financial assistance. In that case, we can assist you in obtaining California Victim Compensation Board (CalVCB) benefits and provide therapy through your CalVCB coverage.

Who is eligible?

In order to qualify for compensation, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:

1. First, the qualifying crime must result in physical injury, the threat of physical injury, or death.

2. Then, if you are the victim, you must have been a California resident at the time of the crime, or a nonresident victimized in California. Additionally, you cannot have taken part in events leading up to the crime.

You can find out more about the other eligibility requirements by visiting this website.
